In no particular order, these are my favorite wildlife photos from 2010.
These geckos were cute - and I've never said that about a gecko before seeing them. Here he's cleaning his eye with his tongue. Taken in the Namibian desert.
Bat-eared fox kits along the C27 in Namibia.
Black shouldered kite taking off from a thorn bush. Etosha National Park.
Gorgeous male lion at Etosha National park. His scars gave him distinction. The one on his shoulder looks like the "pi" symbol.
Lilac-breasted roller at Etosha National Park. I'd tried to photograph these birds at Kruger National Park, but they wouldn't sit still long enough. At Etosha they were more obliging.
Two zebras fighting at a waterhole at Etosha National Park. I love how the dove is framed between the front zebra's legs.
Zebras fascinate me. They have such striking contrasting stripes and they have very interesting behaviour. This photograph was taken at Etosha National Park.
Cape fur seal pup. Taken at Cape Cross point in Namibia. I love the curious look in this youngster's eye.
Wild Horses in the Namib-Naakluft park. These desert horses were amazing. They can survive as much as three days without water. I love this photograph as it shows the conditions that these horses face on a daily basis.
Orphaned cheetah at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. While you might argue that these cheetahs are not wild since they have to live in captivity, but they were born wild cheetahs. CCF does it's best to let them stay as wild as they can, but as orphans they can't be released. They were too young when their mothers died and didn't learn the essential skills needed to survive.
